Rise Against recently unleashed their B-sides and rarities collection, ‘Long Forgotten Songs,’ and we’ve got a couple of cool items for fans related to the release. One is the album sampler video above and the other is an awesome contest featuring a ‘Lost Forgotten Songs’ prize pack.
The promo, which you can check out above, gives fans bits and pieces of 26 songs all wrapped up in one great 11-minute plus package. Whether it be the anthemic nature of ‘Historia Calamitatum,’ the full-on reckless abandon of ‘Death Blossoms,’ the acoustic excellence of ‘Everchanging’ there’s a little something for everyone. There’s also an early version of ‘Give It All,’ the band’s cover of ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’ and many more tracks featured in this sampler. And to top it all off, there’s both photos and live footage of the band members to keep you visually occupied.
The ‘Long Forgotten Songs: B-Sides & Covers 2000-2013′ collection was issued earlier this fall, showcasing exactly how prolific the band has been throughout the years. There’s a lot of great gems in this collection that somehow missed making one of the band’s discs and this release is giving these songs their long-deserved opportunity to be heard.
For those interested in the ‘Long Forgotten Songs’ release, Loudwire and Noisecreep have teamed up with the band to give away three copies of an awesome bundle that features the choice of a CD or vinyl, a Red Sparrow t-shirt and a cassette version all packed in a numbered box. If you want to guarantee yourself one of these bundles, you can purchase it here. You can also order a copy of Rise Against’s ‘Long Forgotten Songs’ at iTunes.
